Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan are terminated by BCCI
BCCI today announced their Central contract for Indian men cricketers for the 2023-24 season, where Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were being terminated from their contract by the Indian Cricket Council body.
Previously Ishan Kishan has dogged themselves from playing Ranji Trophy matches.
Where Shreyas Iyer excused himself from playing the Ranji Trophy game in Mumbai due to he is back issues and then the controversy started. BCCI joint secretary Jay Shah previously stated they will take Strict action against those contracted players who will not play Ranji and today the news came out that Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer's contract has been terminated.
Indian men's cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid has already confirmed that Ishan Kishan had to play state or first-class games to make a return to the national team.
"Kishan and Iyer likely to be excluded from that list as both have not been playing Domestic Cricket despite the BCCI's diktat to do so." according to NDTV news.
"The BCCI has recommended that all athletes give precedents to participating in Domestic Cricket during periods when they are not representing the national team." BCCI statement on the matters.
