Pankaj Udhas passed away today no more" Chitthi Aayi Hain"




Indian legendary Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas has passed away today following a prolonged illness.



One of the greatest Indian classical music singers Pankaj Udhas who was been popular for his famous song "Chitthi Aayi Hai" died today after a prolonged illness in Mumbai and the age of 72.



"With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padma Shri Pankaj Udaas on 26 February due to prolonged Illness. a statement from the Udas family stated.



"We mourn the loss of Pankaj Udhas ji, whose singing conveyed a range of emotions and whose ghazals spoke directly to the soul. He was a beacon of Indian music. Whose melodious transcended generations. I recall my various interactions with him over the years." said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.



Pankaj Udhas was born in Gujarat especially in Jaipur to a musical family and he enrolled himself in the Rajkot Sangeet Academy along with his brothers later on he began learning Indian vocal classical music from Gulam Kadir Khan.



Alongside "Chitthi Aayee Hain", "Ek Taraf Uska Ghar", "Na Kajre Ki Dhaar", 'Aur Aahista Kijiye Bbatyen", "Chandni Raat Mein", "Thodi Thodi Pyar Karo" was among the evergreen gas Ghazals of Padma Shri Pankaj Udhas.
