National Youth Day 2024

National Youth Day is also known as Vivekananda Jayanti.National Youth Day is celebrated on 12th January to mark the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. The motivation speaker was born 12th January 1863. Swami Vivekananda's pre monastic name was Narendra Nath dutta.



This day is celebrated as a great way to inspire the youth of the country. The youth is the backbone of the nation. This day will be kept meaningful only if youth society as a backbone comes forward in the field of social service.

​ In 1984, the Government of India first decided to declare 12th January as National Youth Day.

2024 is the 161st birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda dreamed of renaissance to the people of India on the path of spiritual liberation. Vivekananda is still remembered by many organizations and individuals who have followed this path. Swami Vivekananda remains a very relevant and significant figure to a section of the young society even today. Youth can bring social change. Swami Vivekananda is seen as a symbol of inspiration by the youth community.


From ancient religion and philosophy to modern science and history, Swami Vivekananda had unbridled expertise in all fields. Swami Vivekananda's role in today's social progress is very important. Swami Vivekananda sought to reconcile India's spirituality with religious tolerance and Western progress.

​Prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 25th national youth festival which is a five day festival. On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary, various government and private institutions have organized yoga asana ,competitions etc. today. This Youth Day will also be celebrated in colleges and schools of the country and state.
