Habas Era again started at Mohun Bagan

This is like a reverse myth, an old savior has been replaced by the new savior at Bagan. In December 2021 Antonio Habas was been suddenly sacked and replaced by Juan Ferrando, and after 2 years Juan was replaced by Habas.

After consecutive three losses, the Mohun Bagan Management has decided to sack Juan Ferrando and appoint Antonio Habs as their head coach.

Last year Mohun Bagan won the Durand Cup and ISL title under the coaching of Juan Ferrando and this year after the heartbreaking losses in the AFC Cup and consecutive three losses Juan had to sign off from the pitch.

Antonio Habas is one of the best coaches in the history of ISL, won two league titles with ATK in 2014 and 2019. In 2021 he was at the edge of winning the third title with the ATK Mohun Bagan, but he lost in the finals due to a poor decision by the referee.

This year is one of the greatest challenges to bring the glory back as Habas is starting with the team in the middle of the season.

Mohun Bagan will participate in the Hero Super Cup on January 9th against Sreenidi Deccan, however, the greatest drawback here will be the Indian squad. Mohun Bagan's entire Indian squad went off to play the AFC Asian Cup, hence the Bagan brigade will miss 7 Indian players in the Super Cup.
