Downfall of Maldives Tourism. India started boycotting & destroying the economy of Maldives

A few Indian Agencies and Indian influencers are now going to stop promoting Maldives over anti-India remarks made by some Maldivian ministers. The World's most Hot cake and trending travel destination Maldives is now facing a huge risk in the tourism and economic sector from India. The counter result of the Maldivian Minister's social media post against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi embittered relations between the South Asian neighbours.

India and Russia are behind the largest number of visitors to Maldives. Currently, Maldives has become one of the best travel destinations for their Weddings and Honeymoon trips. In 2019 when the Maldives government started advertising their tourism by giving free vacations to Bollywood actors and Indian cricketers to promote their economy, since then Maldives has become a trending destination for the world especially Indian Tourists.

Now the scenes have changed, after passing hateful comments on the Indian Prime minister Indian influencers and Indian agencies started boycotting Maldives. Indian trade bodies like the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) urged all the tourism and trade associates in the country to stop promoting Maldives. As a result, EaseMy Trip an Indian travel company suspended all trips to Maldives for indefinite times.

ICC chairman Subhash Goyal stated "I Apple to members of FHRAI and the Hotel Association of India to seriously look at investing in Lakshadweep Island as in the future it will be given better returns on your investment than Maldives. I've already asked STIC Travels to stop selling Maldives."
